Catalogue entry

Continued from folio 32 verso (D13637; CLXVII 31a) this view along the East Lothian coast looks towards Dunbar, with the harbour clearly visible and recognisable from sketches in the Edinburgh, 1818 sketchbook (folios 19 verso–20; Tate D13486–D13487; Turner Bequest CLXVI 19a–20). The most distinguishing features are Dunbar Battery and the line of rocks to its right near Dunbar Castle (not visible in the sketch).
