Display caption
This is the only print of the seven that Turner designed for Britannia Depicta where the credit line for the engraving reads 'W and L Byrne', acknowledging the contribution of William Byrne's daughter, Letitia. She was a painter and engraver
in her own right although she often collaborated with her father, as on three of the prints in this series. The remaining two plates on which she assisted were published after William Byrne's death
and it has been suggested that her contribution was not revealed so the plates could stand as a memorial to him.
