Catalogue entry

Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, at the bottom left is a continuation of the view on folio 71 recto opposite (D22109; Turner Bequest CCXXXVIII 69), where the ruined keep of Dudley Castle is shown.
The main view here shows the inner face of the Sharington Range on the east side of the castle’s courtyard, looking north-east; the sketch appears somewhat inaccurate or compressed towards the right.
For other views of Dudley see under folio 23 recto (D22016).
