Catalogue entry

The subject is continued on folio 16 recto opposite (D02831). This view was used as the basis of a finished watercolour that Turner showed at the Royal Academy in 1802, Edinburgh New Town, Castle, &c; from the Water of Leith;1 it can probably be identified with the cut-down drawing now in the Museums Sheffield collection.2
