Catalogue entry

This page contains three rough figure studies and an unidentified landscape view. The inscription at the top suggests that the former may have been observed at Senigallia, a town on the Adriatic Coast, just north-west of Ancona. Further studies related to Senigallia can be seen on folio 26 verso (D13908) and in the Venice to Ancona sketchbook (Tate D14610–D14611; Turner Bequest CLXXVI 63a–64).
