Catalogue entry

Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, these studies of figures and small boats were perhaps, like those on folio 69 recto and verso (D22455, D22456) made on the south bank of the River Thames at Putney. For other views along the Thames between the bridges at Hammersmith and Putney, see under folio 58 verso (D22434).
