Catalogue entry

Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation is a careful but as yet unidentified view of a church and houses on a steep hill or cliff, probably on or near a Channel coast. See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight coastal views scattered through it.
At the top right is a thumbnail sketch placing the silhouette of the features in the main drawing in relation to lightly drawn elements to their left, including a windmill.
