Catalogue entry

In this rough sketch, Turner depicts a group of houses near the banks of the Meuse neighbouring the Tour Grégoire at Givet. Trees and foliage are suggested in loose scalloped line. A little of the fortress of Charlemont can be seen atop the heights in the background.
