Catalogue entry

This page contains an inscription by Turner dating from his 1819 trip to Rome. The full meaning is not clear but he may be referring to the fact that the Janiculum Hill, one of the tallest hills in the city, can be found alongside the Lungotevere, the thoroughfare running alongside the River Tiber.
