Catalogue entry

The location of this landscape is currently unidentified although it is likely to depict a view in Savoy from the road to Lanslebourg. Turner appears to be standing at a high vantage point looking down through the hills towards a distant plain with a river running through it. There is a tower or church visible amidst the slopes to the left.
