Catalogue entry

The identification of Lewes is correctly given by Edward Croft-Murray in pencil annotations to a copy of Finberg now in Tate’s Library. The view includes the castle and below it to the right the spire of St Michael’s Church, seen also on folio 31 of the sketchbook (D05648). For Lewes in this sketchbook see note to folio 31 (D05648).
