Catalogue entry

This is the right half of a double-page spread continued from folio 55 verso (D10970), opposite, recording the view of the south-east aspect of Middleham Castle, from a lower and nearer viewpoint to the sketch on folios 53 verso–54 (D10966–D10967). The castle is indicated here only skeletally since it is studied in detail from this angle on folios 54 verso–55 (D10968–D10969).
For Middleham in this sketchbook see folio 47 verso (D10954).
See Introduction and Technical notes to this sketchbook for the change of ink colour, apparently from blue to red, in the numbering of this page.
