Display caption
A view of the island and town of Egripo off the coast of Evvoia (Euboea), based on a drawing by Thomas Allason. The plate first appeared in part XXIII of Finden's 'Landscape Illustrations'. It has only marginal Byronic interest; the poet had mentioned the town only in passing, while his friend Hobhouse was later to describe an expedition to Egripo on which Byron had failed to accompany him.
