This is Turner’s last sketch of Rhymer’s Glen, a spot on the estate of Sir Walter Scott. The same tree-lined bank and narrow burn are depicted on folio 56 verso (D26205). For more information on Turner’s visit to Rhymer’s Glen in 1834 and the many sketches he made, see folio 50 verso (D26193).
There is a small yellow stain at the centre of the page.
