- After Joseph Mallord William Turner 1775–1851
- Engraving on paper
- Transferred from the British Museum 1988
This plate first appeared as the frontispiece-vignette to vol.V of the 'Life and Works' of Byron. It introduces Moore's account of Byron's residence in Pisa, 1821-22, and his letters from the city. Turner had apparently based his design on a drawing by William Page, although he had visited Pisa in 1828 and drawn this very building (see sketchbook in display case).
