Catalogue entry

Taken with the sketchbook turned upside down, here Turner captures aspects of the shoreline at a village on the Suffolk North Sea coast. Boats are beached on the sands close to the foot of a small cliff atop which buildings are visible. See also Tate D18253, D18255–D18256; Turner Bequest CCIX 49a, 50a–51.
