The subject is drawn with the page turned horizontally. Finberg listed the subject tentatively, but later, with corroboration from Turner scholar C.F. Bell,1 concluded that the subject is indeed Easby, a mile downstream from Richmond on the River Swale. Another view of the abbey is on folio 26 recto (D00931; Turner Bequest XXXIV 25).
