Catalogue entry

The drawing was made with the page turned horizontally. Looking upriver to the south, it shows the Finstermünz or Altfinstermünz fortress on the River Inn near Nauders, where the bridge tower marks the border between Austria on the left and Switzerland on the right. There is a view in this direction on folio 23 verso opposite (D32306), under which the site’s significance on Turner’s route is discussed.
