Drawn with the sketchbook inverted, the view extends slightly on folio 84 (D07098; Turner Bequest CV 74). The subject is certainly Waterloo Bridge, with Somerset House above and beyond it on the left. See Introduction for plans in the mid 1820s for a series of London subjects, including London Bridge, the Custom House and the Tower. For Waterloo Bridge and Somerset House, see note to folio 81 (D07092; Turner Bequest CV 71).
