Catalogue entry

This is the right half of a double-page spread continued from folio 24 verso (D11407) opposite, recording the panorama of Upper Wensleydale from a viewpoint on Middleham Gallops to the south-west of the castle, panning from the north-west, with Castle Bolton in the far distance and Bolton Hall below it, right, to the north with the town of ‘Leyburn’ on the hillside to the right. The panorama is continued to the north-east and east to take in Middleham itself on the following double-page spread, folios 25 verso–26 recto (D11409–D11410).
See folio 22 verso (D11403) for general notes on Middleham.
