Etching, printed and published by Universal Limited Art Editions, New York, in an edition of 23, 23 1/2×28 1/4 (59.7× 71.7)
Purchased from Universal Limited Art Editions (Grant-in-Aid) 1980
One of a pair of etchings made in 1967 but not editioned and published until 1973. This freely-drawn, open bite etching is related to drawings and paintings made from 1967 to the early 1970s and known as the ‘rolling line’ pictures. This plate was inked with white, then black ink was laid on the surface with a roller and the print printed in one pass through the press.
