About

This panel brings together international photographers and curators working in landscape photography to discuss how landscape is portrayed in contemporary photography, from the creation of images that document man-made changes to our environment, to imagining worlds and views that range from the sublime, to the terrifying and ridiculous.

Landscape is one of the richest and most enduring genres in photography, and is still of primary concern to many photographers the world over. From the few still truly remote places on earth to the deeply scarred sites of our voracious industrial activity, photographers are busy exploring, documenting and critiquing the increasingly man-made environment in which we all inhabit.

Speakers are Thomas Struth, Penelope Umbrico, Massimo Vitali and Lauren Marsolier and Mishka Henner. The panel is chaired by William Ewing, Director of Curatorial Projects at Thames & Hudson.

In collaboration with Thames & Hudson and PhotoLondon 2015
