Why supporting Tate matters
Tate champions art for all. We believe that access to art is a human right, and that artistic expression is a life-force. Every single person, no matter who or where they are, should benefit from the joy and fulfilment that creativity brings. Experiencing art is crucial for both personal well-being and the interests of wider society - inspiring empathy, connection, and forging bonds between communities and generations.
Tate is a charity. With your help, and that of some of the most exciting artists in the world, we want to change lives by offering unique and unforgettable art experiences. Your support will help us care for, and maintain free access to, our national collection, sharing the benefits of creativity and championing the right to art for everyone.
There are many ways you can support Tate. You can make a donation, become a Tate Member, Tate Patron, Tate Corporate Partner, leave a gift in your will, visit Tate’s galleries, and shop and eat at Tate.
As a charity, Tate needs to raise income to deliver a progressive and inspiring vision:
Tate for all
Tate belongs to everyone. Across our four galleries in London, Liverpool and St Ives, Tate provides open spaces that are welcoming and free to all, bringing people together to explore, debate, and celebrate art. Our innovative digital offer serves to extend this access further. Your support helps us to connect with and engage millions of people, changing lives by offering unique and unforgettable art experiences.
A collection for all
Our unrivalled collection spans five centuries of British art, and international modern and contemporary art from every continent, in all mediums. The breadth of the Tate collection and the diverse programme it informs means that every visitor to our galleries and digital spaces can find a work of art that speaks to them. Your support helps us to care for, study, and grow our collection, whilst providing free access to it for all.
Creative learning for all
Encountering art should play a regular part in everyone’s lives. Tate is an alternative learning environment and a creative home where people of all ages can participate, make and engage with art. Your support enables world-renowned learning, family, and community programmes, which pioneer new experiences and opportunities for people to understand and enjoy art from their earliest years through to adulthood.
