Press Release

Our galleries will be closing

In line with the latest guidance, Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives are preparing to close from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December. The galleries remain open as usual today, tomorrow and Wednesday. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Tate when we reopen.

Chila Kumari Singh Burman’s transformation of Tate Britain’s exterior will be unveiled as planned on 14 November to coincide with Diwali. The upcoming Zanele Muholi and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye exhibitions will now begin when Tate Modern and Tate Britain reopen.

Tate will continue to connect audiences with art and artists over the weeks ahead. Stay tuned to Tate’s social media channels for new digital content, including videos, podcasts and articles, and check out Tate Kids for a host of fun activities for children.

Anyone who has pre-booked exhibition tickets for the period of closure will be contacted for a refund.
