Discover Liverpool’s landmarks from fresh perspectives in this new RIBA display
Building in Focus: Beneath the River Mersey is a free display curated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). It explores the Queensway Tunnel, Herbert J. Rowse’s 1934 Art Deco masterpiece beneath the River Mersey. Once the world’s longest road tunnel, its striking ventilation towers still shape the city’s skyline today. Featuring photography and film from the tunnel’s opening, the display reveals a story of bold engineering and civic ambition.
