Make along at home at a live online art workshop

Tate Kids is bringing two live art sessions direct to your home. Have fun making art and learn about artists from Tate’s collection.

These activities will be suitable for ages 7+ without adult supervision. Younger kids may need an adult to watch with them. No art experience is required.

During the sessions, you can send us kids’ artworks on social using #TateKids. Kids can also upload their work to the Tate Kids Gallery.

Wednesday 15 July, 14.00–14.45

Create paper figures of people who you love, with artist and illustrator Joey Yu. Experiment with different drawing techniques and make an installation using your figures.

You will need:

  • Colouring pencils, crayons or felt tips
  • White and coloured paper
  • Recycled cardboard or thick card packaging
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

This is free online workshop taking place on Wednesday 15 July 2020 from 14.00–14.45 BST.

Make colourful collages

Play with shapes and experiment with colourful collage, then make a collage portrait. The session is hosted by Kirstie Beaven, artist and editor of Sonshine Magazine.

Watch this free online workshop, which took place on Wednesday 8 July 2020.

You will need:

  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Plain or coloured paper
  • Colouring pencils, crayons or felt tips
  • Old magazines, flyers or newspaper. Look for images of things you like or that represent you!

While Tate galleries may be closed, Tate Kids is always open. Tate Kids is a place for kids to play free games and quizzes, find art activities, explore homework help and share their art.
