Discover new ways of looking at artworks with your family

Art Chit Chats invite children and their carers to respond to open-ended questions about artworks within Tate’s collection. Delivered by Tate staff during school holidays and half-term, sessions last between 10 - 20 mins and encourage conversations about artworks in a relaxed environment.

No prior knowledge of the artist or artwork is needed—just curiosity!

Suitable for children aged 4+, Art Chit Chats are a fun activity for the whole family designed to spark the imagination!

Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

  • Accessible, standard and Changing Places toilets are located on the Lower floor.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.

To help plan your visit to Tate Britain, have a look at our visual story. It includes photographs and information about what you can expect from a visit to the gallery.
