Artist-in-Residence workshops: Summer 2017

4 May – 29 June 2017 at 11.30–13.00 and 14.00–15.30

A series of workshops for students and teachers, encouraging fresh perspectives on art

Workshops will take place in the gallery, where students will encounter artwork alongside their teachers and artists. Through sharing thoughts and ideas they can create a unique and diverse learning environment designed to encourage engagement with art and contemporary culture.

We take a radical approach, inviting students to learn about art through conversation with each other, artists and artworks within the context of the public gallery space.

Each conversation will be different and unpredictable, but always designed to encourage individuals to ask questions and form opinions.

Our 2016–17 workshops are led by: Travis Alabanza, James Leadbitter (AKA The Vacuum Cleaner), Gal Leshem and Zinzi Minott.

It’s a chance to be with an artist, frees them from ‘the classroom’, removes barriers and makes art more accessible.
