Learn techniques to develop your students' contextual and critical research skills in this one-day professional development workshop at Tate Britain

Join this one-day professional development workshop led by University of the Arts London and Tate. Develop your students’ contextual and critical research skills through working with a diverse, innovative and inventive range of creative approaches in the gallery. Ideal for those delivering art and design qualifications, especially GCSE, AS and A Level Art and Design and BTEC.

This course will help you to understand how to maximise the gallery as an alternative learning environment to meet assessment requirements around the development of students’ critical research skills.

  • Discover ways to apply the exploration of artworks and artists’ practice within the gallery to support student learning
  • Explore strategies to improve student engagement by embracing the unexpected, experimentation and discovery
  • Reflect on your own learning; apply findings in your teaching and measure impact.
