Taking its cue from the British Baroque: Power and Illusion exhibition, this newly commissioned live sound performance takes you on an immersive journey through musical styles more than 300 years apart.
Join us in the final room of the exhibition for an intimate reimagining of English Baroque music through a heady combination of live instrumentals, analogue synths and electronics.
This hour-long seated performance will be followed by a private view of the exhibition. Performers include Benjamin Tassie and Luke Challinor.
Classical Remix commission composers, performers, writers and artists to reimagine historic music. Recent projects have included a Stanley Kubrich-inspired Mozart opera on synths and new music based on the pioneering women of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. They have collaborated with the V&A, Historic Royal Palaces, Ikon Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, National Trust and Dulwich Picture Gallery among others.
Benjamin Tassie is a composer working at the intersection of contemporary-classical and experimental, electronic pop.
