Explore art and ideas with artist-led schools workshops

Through spending time with art and artists, the workshops offer young people the opportunity to develop the social, emotional, and intellectual skills that support them to learn about themselves and others in the world. The workshops are designed to encourage students to ask questions, develop opinions and take ownership of the gallery.

Our workshops are devised and led by artists working with Tate over the academic year. They take place in the gallery at Tate Britain and Tate Modern.

Open to all UK school groups including Primary, Secondary, Alternative Provision, and Additional Needs.

The 90 Minute workshops are for a maximum of 16 students and 2 teachers.

There are three workshops in each time slot per day. Time slots are 10.30–12.00 and 13.00–14.30.

You won't need to prepare or bring any materials with you. All materials will be provided.

Relaxed workshops are intended for groups with additional needs. These workshops have flexible timings, and there is a studio space available. A pre-visit conversation with the artist is provided so that we can best meet the needs of your students.

There is one workshop per day for a maximum of 10 students accompanied by their teachers/carers.

Timings are flexible between 10.30–14.30, please call +44 (0)20 7887 8888 (select Option 3) to discuss.

You won't need to prepare or bring any materials with you. All materials will be provided.
