This Show and Tell will look at the Martin Parr collection held by Tate's Library and Archive

Following a two year cataloguing project, Tate Library and Archive invite you to view a selection of material from the photobook collection of Martin Parr, along with a talk from Tate Curator Yasufumi Nakamori.

The Martin Parr collection comprises of over 12,000 items. The collection’s strengths lie in its extensiveness of photobooks from around the world, with a focus on documentary photography and propaganda materials. It includes key works by renowned photographers, alongside self-published amateur work and mass-produced commercial books.

The collection was acquired by Tate with the generous support of the LUMA Foundation. Further support has come from Art Fund, Tate Americas Foundation, Tate Members, and Tate’s acquisition committees focused on photography, Asia Pacific, Russia and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa.

Following this event, the collection will be available to search on the library catalogue and accessible for use in the Reading Rooms at Tate Britain.
