Taking its title from a photograph by surrealist artist Claude Cahun, this programme presents contemporary short films involving coded narratives, evocative settings and unsettling imagery. This is the first instalment of Assembly: A Survey of Recent Artists: Film and Video in Britain, 2008–13 and is introduced by curators of this major survey of recent artists’ film and video in Britain. Films by Bonnie Camplin, Shezad Dawood, Matthew Noel-Tod, Sarah Pucill and Melanie Smith.
