BSL Tour: Fighting History

18 July 2015 at 12.00–13.00

Jeremy Deller, The Battle of Orgreave Archive (An Injury to One is an Injury to All) 2001. Tate. © Jeremy Deller. Commissioned and produced by Artangel.

This BSL tour looks at the epic 18th century history paintings to 20th century and contemporary pieces in the exhibition Fighting History.  Join presenter John Wilson as he explores how artists have reacted to key historic events, and how they capture and interpret the past. From Ancient Rome to recent political upheavals, Fighting History looks at how artists have transformed significant events into paintings and artworks that encourage us to reflect on our own place in history.

Presented by John Wilson, interpretation by Rob Chalk.
