Tate Britain Touch Tours

Third Monday of every month at 11.00–12.30

© Tate

A unique opportunity for visually impaired and blind visitors to engage with selected artworks from the Tate collection displays

Touch Tours are delivered by two Visitor Engagement Assistant Touch Tour Guides. They include up to three artworks from the collection displays and are a combination of audio description and supervised touching artworks. Throughout the tour there is a focus on having a conversation about the art.

Our monthly bookable Touch Tours are designed for one visually impaired visitor and one sighted carer or companion. Advance booking is essential, please call us on +44 (0) 20 7887 8888 to book your tour.

Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

  • Accessible, standard and Changing Places toilets are located on the Lower floor.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.

To help plan your visit to Tate Britain, have a look at our visual story. It includes photographs and information about what you can expect from a visit to the gallery.Download Tate Britain mapFor more information before your visit:
