Join the Grenfell community for an evening at Tate Britain to pay tribute to the Grenfell eight year anniversary

Through art, creative activities and conversations the evening will explore personal and collective stories of resilience. Join The SPACE as they reflect on the impact of the Grenfell tragedy and connect with the transformative power of the community.

This is a closed event for Grenfell communities and networks.

A Moment of Silence and Reflection

Duveens 19.00

Join The SPACE as they recite the names of the 72 people who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower fire and invite you to observe 72-seconds of silence. We invite you take this moment to honour the lives lost on the 14th of June 2017 and to come together as a community to support the survivors and bereaved of Grenfell Tower in their fight for justice.

Grenfell Community Displays

Duveen 18.30-21.00

Walk through the Duveen Galleries and explore the works of and by the Grenfell community. You will encounter photographs, artworks and videos that pay respect and honour the 8 year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower Fire.

Creating Together Workshop

Clore Studio 19.00-21.00

Take part in an interactive art workshop by JKArts and join in to create an art piece together that will continue to grow through the evening.

There will also be a ‘Soft Studio' Relaxation Space in the room. The Soft Studio is a sensory and tactile space that encourages rest and play. The sculpture used in Soft Studio was created by HoLD Art Collective.

Fabrics of the Fallen

Outside Clore Studio 19.00-21.00

Join us for a hands-on T-shirt making workshop by THE SPACE. This is a space to remember those who are no longer with us, share some conversations, make new friends and to express yourself creatively.

Open Art Therapy Workshop

Play Studio 19.00-21.00

Join Latimer Community Art Therapy (LCAT) for an open art therapy group which will be open to all adults and children attending the event. The art therapy group will replicate the groups LCAT run in their community centre which allows space for free expression and working through of thoughts and feelings in the here and now of the group. The group will be facilitated by LCAT art psychotherapists Beulah Lambert, Holly Caldecourt and Emma Adler, all of whom facilitated the groups in the early days after the fire and continue working in LCAT.

Reflection Room

Quiet Room 18.30-21.00

Do you need a room to take a break from the many activities happening in the building, and to reflect on what is happening around you? We invite you to the reflection room to spend some time in this quiet, access-friendly and wellbeing space. We will have NHS Supporter Workers in there if you need some support and care for the evening.

Voice of the Voiceless

Gallery 9 18.30-21.00

Join poets from The SPACE as they share poems about their lives and the lives around them. Sit with them and write your very own special and personal poem about the things that you are grateful for and changes you would like to see in the world around you.

Remembrance Room

Story Space 18.30-21.00

Spend some time away from the noise in a room to remember and pay tribute to those lost in the Grenfell Tower fire. Everyone is invited to add photographs and messages for their loved and lost ones.
