Author of Grief is the Thing with Feathers and Lanny, Max Porter is one of Britain’s most original and innovative writers. In this newly commissioned work, Porter explores the relationship between political protest and art institutions in a unique performance featuring multiple voices.
Porter will perform the piece alongside Bimbola Fadairo, Sam Fairbrother and Christine Lai.
This event is part of Writers on Art, a series commissioning the best contemporary writers from around the world to produce new work on art and visual culture across Tate platforms. Porter’s work will appear in a future issue of Tate Etc. magazine.
Biography
Max Porter is the author of Lanny, a Sunday Times Top 10 bestseller and long-listed for the 2019 Booker Prize. His first novel, Grief Is the Thing with Feathers, won the Sunday Times/Peter, Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year, the International Dylan Thomas Prize, and the Europese Literatuurprijs and the BAMB Readers’ Award.
