Join us in Tate Exchange to view a presentation of art created by male prisoners and their families

Men taking part in the Novus Family Learning programmes have worked with artist Denise Wright to explore different artistic techniques and processes inspired by Keith Haring. In Tate Exchange, Novus present a series of artworks produced by men and their families from five prisons across the North West and North Wales. The work includes banners, printmaking and drawing. During the week visitors to Tate Exchange can meet members of staff from Novus and take part in a practical activities.

Social enterprise Novus deliver education, training and employment opportunities to men, women and young people in over 50 UK prisons. Beyond Walls is the third project that has been displayed in Tate Exchange and is a part of an ongoing partnership between Novus and Tate Liverpool. The partnership gives families the opportunity to experience and be inspired by art. The aim is to reduce the impact of separation and isolation that families often face, especially younger family members when they have a parent in prison.
