Draw to Explore offers an in-depth look at the relationship between sculpture and drawing through a mixture of discussion and practical art-making activities. Explore artistic techniques including proportion and physical form; line and tonal drawing; spatial exploration and composition in a relaxed atmosphere.

Led by local artist Steven Ashton over four weekly sessions, you will analyse sculpture through drawing processes and techniques, experiment with drawing as a creative medium, and be guided to produce your own piece of work inspired by three dimensional forms in space.

Taking inspiration from Tate Liverpool’s acclaimed Tate Collection display DLA Piper Series: This is Sculpture you will study work by Hepworth, Arp, Moore, Gabo and Craig-Martin.

Draw to Explore takes place over four weekly sessions at the Group Reception Room;

Saturday 25 February, Saturday 3 March, Saturday 10 March and Saturday 17 March 2012 (10.30 – 13.30)

Book all four sessions together for £150, £120 (Concessions). Alternatively book individual sessions at £40 each.

No previous experience is necessary, and price includes materials.
