Back by popular demand!

To celebrate the final weekend of Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve arranged another opportunity for you to enjoy an evening of live jazz here at Tate Liverpool. Local jazz pianist David Fishel and his band will be performing a vibrant mix of early jazz inspired by Pollock’s very own jazz collection. You will hear the likes of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday alongside other much loved favourites.

Jackson Pollock was a big jazz fan regularly attending performances at New York’s Five Spot Club. He loved the tempo of jazz music and would listen to it whilst painting in his studio. The energy of the music translated into some of his most famous masterpieces, with many of the works adorning the walls of our gallery in the exhibition Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots. This unique event will give you the opportunity to uncover the effect the music had on his work, by enjoying both the exhibition and the live jazz band.

During the evening you can enjoy a complimentary first drink and savour in the delicious delights served in the café. There will be a selection of sharing platters and nibbles including crispy calamari with aioli and spicy meatballs in a rich tomato.

The shop will be open during the evening if you wish to purchase any merchandise or books related to the exhibition.

All guests must be seated by 20.30.

Jackson Pollock Jazz Evening is a part of Pollock After Dark, a late night celebration marking the end of our special exhibition Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots.
