Throughout 2017, Museum of Homelessness has been presenting State of the Nation around the UK to ask the questions that matter about homelessness today.
State of the Nation is due to end in early 2017 but many questions remain unresolved. This event will ask them again using Anthony Luvera and Gerald Mclaverty’s Frequently Asked Questions that is on show during the week as its basis.
We will bring together activists and creative practitioners who are responding to homelessness to comment on issues presented throughout the week. This will be done through practical workshops, presentations and interactive sessions led by those connected with the issues through their creative work.

Anthony Luvera
Anthony Luvera is an Australian artist, writer and educator based in London. His work has been exhibited widely in galleries, public spaces and festivals, including the British Museum, London Underground’s Art on the Underground, National Portrait Gallery London, Belfast Exposed Photography, Australian Centre for Photography, PhotoIreland, Malmö Fotobiennal, Goa International Photography Festival, and Les Rencontres D’ArlesPhotographie.
Tony Mallon
Tony Mallon is Photographic Artist and Educator. Based in Liverpool, he has over twenty years of experience of working on award winning, temporary and permanent public realm art commissions which include photographic art. He has also acquired extensive experience of collaborating with people & communities, including people experiencing homelessness, offenders (including ex-offenders), refugees, people with drug & alcohol addiction, individuals with complex mental health needs & the elderly. He has worked withAsylum Link, Emmaus UK, Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust Hospital, Liverpool Waves of Hope, METAL, Open Eye Gallery, Riverside Housing, Save the Children and The Salvation Army.
Greater Manchester Housing Action
Greater Manchester Housing Action is a coalition of individuals, communities, charities and workers unions. Our network has been formed in the context of the deepening housing crisis and the historic political opportunity of Devo Manc. We aim to build an alliance that bridges the gap between academics and direct activity, and collectively develop solutions to the housing crisis in Greater Manchester.
