The Alchemy Between Us: Making Sense of the World With Laurence Payot

11–17 December 2016

Question the value of art and how it can help make sense of the world

Why do people need artworks? Artist Laurence Payot presents a week-long series of videos, texts and workshops acting as catalysts for discussion and exchange. Questioning the value of art and how it helps to make sense of the world, ‘The Alchemy Between Us’ aims to explore the communicative potential of art. Drop in or book a place on a workshop or talk below.

Laurence Payot works with communities to create collective events and objects that respond to and engage with specific places. By taking part, you are given tools to connect with other people and experience their everyday lives from an out-of-the ordinary perspective.

This series is programmed by Laurence Payot, a Tate Exchange Liverpool Associate, in association The Royal Standard.
