Tate Liverpool Talks Lectures

Members December weekend: Artist talk: Ruth Ewan

7 December 2013 at 14.00–15.00

Free for Members

Join acclaimed artist Ruth Ewan and young people’s curator Abigail Christenson as they chat about Ruth’s artwork, including her ongoing collection of protest songs presented in A Jukebox of People Trying to Change the World (2003 – ongoing) which features in Art Turning Left. You can contribute to this piece by making your own recommendations for protest song’s on the day.

Ruth and Abigail also talk about the newly commissioned work that has been produced with Tate Collective, which is also on display in the exhibition. Ruth has worked closely with Tate Collective over the past few months to create this piece, which aims to create a dialogue around where young people belong in society both geographically and socially within Liverpool. This work will be used as a starting point to engage a discussion about your own experiences of growing up in Liverpool and will give a great insight in to Tate Collective.
