Beyond These Rooms

A symposium exploring the intersections between art and history with ANU and CoisCéim

As part of BEYOND THESE ROOMS, ANU & CoisCéim will host a one day symposium that will examine the intersection between art and history through a series of keynotes and critical reflections from the three directors David Bolger, Owen Boss, Louise Lowe and guest speakers to address key themes including:

  • Why Remember: what place has history in the modern contemporary art space. Object, materials and presentation across art form and culture.
  • What Art can do for you: who are we making art for and what are the artistic process, context and commissioning propositions that make that happen.
  • Where do we go from here: how do we disseminate ephemeral and time-based work with a view to future audiences, readership and legacy.
