See Anni Albers through the eyes of artist Ismini Samanidou in this unique tour

You can go anywhere from anywhere. Anni Albers

In 2014 Ismini spent three months at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation as their first ever weaving artist-in-residence, where she had unprecedented access to the archive of Anni Albers’s work and writings. During her residency Ismini restored three of Albers’s looms, one of which can be seen in the current exhibition, along with a film of her weaving on it. Her time at the foundation inspired a new stage in her own practice of experimental work in drawing, photography and hand weaving.

In this tour, Ismini shares her experience and knowledge of Anni Albers and how the artist continues to inspire her practice today. This event offers a personal and unique insight into Anni Albers's working methods, approaches and processes from the perspective of a weaver working today across art, design, making and teaching.
