Summer Exhibition by City and Islington students, July 2013

Create sculptures and constructed textile garments alongside art students from City and Islington College

Tate Exchange becomes a studio space across a series of one-day workshops.

Drop in to observe and learn alongside City and Islington students as they explore sculpture and textile forms in response to Tate’s collection.

Be part of a one-minute sculpture, a five minute encounter or sign up on the day for longer workshops using sewing and other construction techniques to create fabulous sculptural garments.

  • 23 January: Wearable Sculpture – Make wearable body sculptures inspired by artist Rebecca Horn
  • 24 January: Textiles Circuit Training – Explore a range of textile techniques
  • 30 January: One Minute Sculpture & Chain Reaction – Improvise with objects to create fleeting sculptures
  • 31 January: Paper Garment Fashion Workshop – Make striking items of clothing from folded paper
  • 7 February: Deconstruct / Reconstruct – Recycle and breathe new life into an old jacket

This event is programmed by City and Islington College, a Tate Exchange Associate.
