Tate Modern Workshop

Deconstruct / Reconstruct With City and Islington College

7 February 2017 at 12.00–18.00

Free for Members

Constructed textile garments

Deconstruct / Reconstruct by City and Islington Students 2015. © City and Islington College

Breathe new life into an old jacket by taking it apart and making something new

Join students from City and Islington college for this creative textiles workshop, deconstructing then reconstructing a jacket.

Bring your own jacket (one you don’t mind taking to pieces). Pick it apart with care – or just rip it to bits – then use simple sewing techniques to create a whole new garment. Our students will be on hand to guide you.

The piece is all yours to take home and enjoy – but before you leave, join our catwalk show and photoshoot and show off your fabulous creation.

Book on the day in the Tate Exchange space.

This event is programmed by City and Islington College, a Tate Exchange Associate.
