The Kitchen: Never Real Objects series concludes with The Circle, a multi-projection performance by artist Jibade-Khalil Huffman.
Jibade-Khalil Huffman layers text and footage with found media to raise questions of mainstream representation. This new performance draws from the structures of the focus group, support group and academic panel to explore repetitions of behaviour that inform our reactions to various traumas.
Unfolding across multiple projections and bodies, the performance addresses what it means to think about trauma, who is 'allowed' to speak and what seeing ourselves reflected in various screens means.
