The weekend-long Tony Cokes: Sound Systems programme opens with the artist’s recent three-channel video installation Could You Visit Me in Dreams? 2018, which will be openly accessible in the Starr Cinema throughout the evening.

Drawing from his book The Vienna Guide, the installation offers a speculative image of Vienna through collaged text appropriated from various sources including songs, nightclub descriptions, published articles, Facebook posts and tourist guides. The work unfolds through Cokes’ signature coloured text animations and is set to music by Scritti Politti, Mount Kimbie, Debit and Kode9 & Burial. Could You Visit Me in Dreams? is a perfect introduction to Cokes's practice of remixing through sound and textual cut-up.
