Spike Lee is one of the most celebrated figures in American cinema, widely acclaimed for directing films such as Do The Right Thing (1989), Malcolm X (1992), 25th Hour (2002) and, most recently, Chi-Raq (2015). This is a unique opportunity to hear him reflect on the art and history explored in the exhibition Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power and how it has influenced his career. Lee will be in conversation with new Tate director Maria Balshaw.
